The official blog of Labgfx.com

A push towards the right direction

So here we are, Labgfx jumping onto the social-media bandwagon. None the less, we are here and that is the important thing, right? Well, not really. While browsing around the internet on my lunch break, I came across a blog called Citizen Agency; they’re a “consultancy that specializes in developing community-centric strategies around product research, design, development, and marketing.” I think I read almost every post on their blog during my then extended-lunch-break, and I genuinely felt something real from their blogs.

They had categories describing their adventures during their startup, news about what the team was getting into, events, and just how they’re progressing in general. It made me think for awhile about how Labgfx should present itself to the community. I knew we wanted a blog, but I thought of it only as a way of delivering key-messages, announcements, and client success stories.

On the other hand I’ve also read the blog posts concerning Dreamhost billing almost all of their customers 7.5 million dollars in total. They wrote about this catastrophic error in their blog and most of their customers took great offense by how they loosely and jokingly they responded to a critical problem.

All in all we decided will be using a certain level professionalism that people expect and a genuine realness that people like to hear, we’ve decided how to present our blog.

So… shifting my view on what should be a blog for a company; Labgfx is going to graciously follow in Citizen Agency’s footsteps. I greatly appreciate the knowledge the people over there have indirectly given me. Kudos and best of luck to you guys!

Ah, well, professionalism is overrated. ;)

But, I definitely commend you taking a more conversational and personal tone with your work. I think it’ll help people connect, and will bring you closer to the reality and value of your work.
